Rustic Cabinet Redo

SO I fell in love with this piece...
It started like this....

I added a decorative key hole cover
or escutcheon

It was brass so I painted it as well.
I started with a dry brush
of a dusty aqua...
Added a coat of white and umber
in key places...
corners of doors, around key hole.
A French panel mimicked from
a 17th century design
I then hand painted on the doors.

I used a mix of umber and white
and a bright white
to hand paint the panel.

I shaded with a deeper aqua
and then the chocolate glaze
to add dimension.
Then a major sanding to let
the wood come thru.
Next a chocolate glaze over the entire piece
and rubbed with a damp soft cloth
to really embed the glaze.
Lastly, a paste wax for a soft durable finish.

Waaa Laaa...
a rustic French cabinet
for our next sale at
Chartreuse & Co.

 (Kitty looks disturbed!)
Please leave me a note...
love notes and new followers.
