Linens and then some...

I have been playing with
vintage linens...

A table cloth from the 50's.
A flower seed sack from the 40's.
(My oh my...the printed tassels knock me out!)

As a painter,
this is not my normal forray!
I wanted to create some pillows
 for a toile loveseat.
(Traditional blue and yellow toile, too boring for me.)
To make it
POP
and
sizzle
for summer fun.

The feel of the fabric...
soft and time worn.

The colors...
bold
and full of
 summer's glory.
(I am normally drawn toward soft taupes, robin's egg blues  and a not-so-green green,
so this is a surprise punch in my always soft toned brain!)

The sound of my
sewing machine...
taking me back
to my
7th grade
Home Economics class
(that sounds so funny to me still!)
where I first really learned
the basics of  sewing.

Sweet,
simple
and
an
unexpected
pleasure.

OH...

AND

Thanks to all our
fabulous customers
May sale will be right around the corner!!

So...
Don't forget to
Find your unexpected pleasure...
Molly

  1. Oh, me too! I am getting out the sewing machine tomorrow, after choosing fabrics and planning today. I love my vintage linens! Yours are adorable, too! I'm having a huge linen sale in my Etsy shop, too! (The ones I make will go in my other Etsy shop, but not for a while yet...) So much fun!

  3. What a terrific idea for those unusable vintage linens. They really make a statement don't they.
